Union Minister Smriti Irani, has promised that the One Stop Centre will not be closed. The government is constantly working toward women’s empowerment, she said. As the Minister launched the Stree Manoraksha Project for capacity building of One Stop Center today, she noted that this project was designed to end the cycle of violence against women. She emphasized that empowerment should begin at an early age. Stree Manoraksha Project, according to her, helps women who are facing atrocities with life skills.
As the Minister of State for Women and Child Development, Dr Munjpara Mahendrabhai Kalubhai said, the government has taken several steps to empower women, including the establishment of a Women Helpline and One Stop Centre. He stated that more than five lakh Indian women have benefited from the One Stop Centre so far.
