The Indian government has just reinstated scheduled international flights after the suspension of international flight operations for two years due to the COVID-19 outbreak. The Center has announced that several relaxations will be made to the existing COVID-19 protocols that will be implemented in airports and on airplanes.
With the new rules announced by the Civil Aviation Ministry, cabin crew no longer have to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) kits, and airport security will resume pat-downs whenever necessary. On international flights, three seats are left empty for medical emergencies to facilitate smooth operations. Protective face masks and good hand hygiene are still required at airports and on flights.
